The Truth About Christians

Before I became a christian.. I was pretty miserable. I didnt realize how unhappy I was until I recieved joy, TRUE joy! I thought that christians didnt know what the "real world" was all about! They didnt know what suffering was or struggling. I thought "here they are in there perfect little lives, they have No clue about drugs or alcohol.... they dont know what its like to REALLY go through some 'crap'!!"

When I became pregnant (out of wedlock), giving birth to a baby girl.. I still wasnt ready to get married! I had sat back and saw so much hurt and pain in mom and extended family go through so much abuse I was scared to get married! When I finally sat a date it was a 'rush-rush' thing... got married, my husband lost his job-us with a 6month old right before Christmas. He got a job only a couple wks after losing his job. The following May I wanted a divorce! I had to ask myself... where am I gonna work? who am I gonna stay with? How's this gonna affect our 'almost' one year old little girl? I realized that if the all these people that have been together 60 years can make it we can too!!

In June, at our daughters first birthday party someone we invited, invited us to their church!! We both knew we wanted better for our daughter and future children..We attended the following Sunday and have been attending ever since! I've learned the truth about God, not what people say but the true God.. How much He loves me and how much He wants us to succeed in everything we do. He only wants the best for us. We are His children, we have direct heir to the thrown. IF and ONLY IF we accept Him, submit to HIM. He's not forcing or manipulative! He's not gonna force anyone to do the right thing, He wants us to come to Him willingly. Just because we go to church, doesnt mean we dont live in the 'real world' or 'we dont know anything...' Christians (true christians) are some of the strongest people you'll ever meet... (or so it seems)! Like the Sunday school song 'Jesus Loves Me', "I am weak but He is strong.." thats the truth behind it all. We rely on the Holy Spirit for strength... That in itself should be a huge testimony for people in the midst of struggles we are still walking around wit a smile on our face! That right there, shows how mighty our God is... He delivers us, gives us strength in time of need, fills us wit love when we dont feel loved, comforts us when were sad, and even takes away the sadness and replaces it wit joy! (IF we allow Him too)

God doesnt need me to be God, He wants me 'cause He loves me! I am (and you are) His sons and daughters... We need Him just as we needed our parents and/or caregiver when we were young... He is SO, SO much more than what this world leads Him to be!! Thats the truth behind this Christian!

Our Children Are The Generation For Now

We get so upset about what our children are being taught at school, but it us, the parents, that are responsible for what our children are learning... Do you know what your children are learning at school??
We need to communicate with our children, ask them questions (ex: "what did you do at school today?" or"What was your favorite part?") communicate with their teachers. If you ever see something or disagree with something, speak up! These are our children. We are responsible for 'training them up in the way they should go'!
If you approach a teacher on something you disagree with (something thats immoral wrong or against your beliefs) and the teacher doesnt listen, be persistant, go to their principal. If we as parents all stood up for the things we didnt agree with and stopped taking a back seat saying "someone needs to change this!" OR "what are we gonna do about these schools these days??!!" something would get done.
Sometimes all it takes is one person to stand up and its amazing how many will follow... Its time to move forward in life. Its time to make a change, its time to make a difference, not only for us but for our children and their future! Its time to be the example to our children. Show them how to make a stand for what is right!
Im not gonna lie, its scary to think about the "economy" and what life will be like for my children when they become adults. But if we teach them NOW to stand for what they believe in and for the things that really matter not to back down... Our government, our future, our lives will change for the better... but it starts with us! Make a change, keep moving forward, and be determined!

Determination For Everyday Life!

Determination....What is determination?? Where does it come from?? Where do you get your determination from?? Webster defines determination as "free choice of ones own act or states without external compulsion"..in other words its a choice of your own, no one can make you or force you to do what they want.. Through determination is where you will accomplish what you want or need to do.
There are things that can motivate us and cause determination in our lives. Sometimes its love or it can even be anger. At one point or another anger has caused us to be determined to accomplish whatever we had set out for (in anger, its usually saying something ugly or some type of vandalism). Anger is ONE of our strongest emotions.. Anger causes us to say things we dont mean, act in ways we dont mean to act.
As a Child of God, a wife, and a mother I do get angry, I do say and act ways I dont mean.. How do we correct those things?? How do we make ammends?? How do we keep from doing or reacting that way again?? Whats the difference between determination, perseverance, and motivation? Motivation is what gets us determined and perserverance is the act of following through... Anytime we hurt anyone, regardless of who's right or wrong, justified or not, we need to apologize (the act of making ammends). If they refuse to forgive then we need to recognize our hands our clean and pray for the other person.
In the bible is where you will find your strength for true determination! It sounds so simple but its true! Reading the word is where we will find strength for every area of our lives, whether it be in our motivation or determination. God's given us the Holy Spirit as a 'guidance couselor' in our lives...John 14:26, descibes the Holy Spirit as "couselor, advocate, STRENGTHener, and standby." We arent in this alone, reach out for the Holy Spirit for your determination(or motivation)! Whether it be in our marriage, with our children, in finances,or just within ourselves (to go to excercise more or whatever it is you need to overcome). Be determined to conquer it and always remember GOD IS FAITHFUL!
So, determine what your motives are and ask the Holy Spirit to help you have the determination and strength you need to overcome. Phillipians 4:13, I can do ALL the things THROUGH CHRIST who gives me strength.BE DETERMINED, NEVER GIVE UP, FOLLOW THROUGH, STAY STRONG, and REMEMBER YOU'RE NEVER ALONE!!!

I hope everyone has an awesome Easter! I usually pick out a nice outfit or dress to wear on Easter out of my closet but this year I wanted to buy a dress! I knew exactly what I wanted and what I was lookin' for, and I wasn't gonna stop til I found it. I searched high and low.. I went to eight different stores.. and FINALLY found one at JcPenny! They seem to never let me down when it comes to dresses!
Just as I had determination to find that dress, we need to have that kind of determination when it comes to relationships, our children, getting that promotion at work, and even when it comes to ourselves~ whether its losing that baby weight, eating healthier, or even just taking that 'me' time! YES, I said it, just because your a mom (single or married) you need your "self" time. That's the time you sit back and do whatever it is you want.. regardless whether its an hour or the weekend. You deserve it! SO, two questions, what is it you like to do in your spare time? What area do you need more determination/motivation in??
